Consumer VoIP service (design, build and roll-out and service introduction) – Major UK ISP
Summary:
Given a Group Corporate strategy to deploy VoIP services over existing broadband infrastructure in all countries, this project saw the design, development, deployment of this service (to an initial 100K customers in the UK) and interconnect to several major carrier & mobile networks. David:
- Set-up technical initiation phases based upon the collation of business, end-user network and operational requirements
- Established ownership of capacity dimensioning and management rules, service architecture and support
- Managed delivery teams against agreed deliverables
- Represented of Operations / Service Management functions at PRGs
- Acted as UK network technical design authority
- Managed regulatory liaison with OfCom
- Carried out local supplier negotiation
- Ensured alignment of this project with the 3GPP ‘Release 4’ standard currently under consideration within Mobile division at the group architecture level
- Managed phased launch planning and actual cut-over, with support to customer facing teams
