Information Management Strategy – UK Government agency

Summary:

As a key component of this government agency’s Information Management Strategic Investment Programme, a business case was required to identify and quantify the benefits of Application Portfolio consolidation and ongoing management. David led the delivery of a work package to:

  • Analyse the current costs (As-Is) for the Application Portfolio (applying a pragmatic level of detail)
  • Define the financial model and business case framework to best represent the strategy of subject matter experts
  • Manage partnering consultancies’ deliverables along side internal resources against very tight timescale and within a changing environment
  • Describe the Application Portfolio Strategy in the form of business benefits
  • Develop a strong and highly credible business case – with supporting financial model

In addition to the above work-package, David was also requested to take overall management of all financial modelling across the entire Strategic Investment Programme, to ensure accuracy, common language and the ability to provide a ‘rolled-up’ picture and refine TCO (total cost of ownership) projections for the over-arching business case.
